SHAKES x Girls Don’t Cry — Shakes

In 2017, with the SHAKES doors only just open, we had the privilege of collaborating with Verdy on his recently released line, “Girls Don’t Cry”. SHAKES and Verdy came together for a world exclusive New Zealand colourway of the now iconic “Girls Don’t Cry” tee. Along with the exclusive tee, products from the “Girls Don’t Cry” and “Wasted Youth” mainlines were also available.

Since then, Verdy has gone on to become one of Japan’s most influential graphic artists. Born and raised in Osaka, Verdy moved to Tokyo in 2012 to work with the graphic design group, VK Design Works. Today, Verdy’s creations have continued to rise in popularity through his various collaborations with the likes of Louis Vuitton, Nike SB, Uniqlo and McDonald’s.
